Goodhew has paired up with local Chattanooga humanitarian, Jordan Thomas, and his organization, the Jordan Thomas Foundation, to help raise funds for children with traumatic injuries. Jordan Thomas, 20, lost both legs in a boating accident in 2005. He has since raised $500,000 for prosthetics for children in need through his foundation. As a result of his honorable life work, Thomas is a nominee for the CNN Hero of the Year award.

“I have known the Thomas family for several years, and Jordan is such a remarkable young man,” notes Jim Markley, co-founder of Goodhew. “In addition to helping raise funds for his program, we also want to inform the outdoor industry of this great cause and the amazing efforts of this individual. Our hope is that everyone who reads this announcement will take a couple of minutes out of their busy day to vote for Jordan.”

Thomas is among 9 other nominees that were chosen by CNN for their outstanding efforts and selfless acts for others. The top winner is chosen by the public through votes cast online at http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/cnn.heroes/vote/. Participates are able to vote as many times as deemed necessary. The winner will receive $100,000 for their foundation. Final date to vote is November 19th. All nominees will be featured on the world-wide broadcasting of “CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute”, hosted by Anderson Cooper Thanksgiving night, November 26th at 9pm EST. The telecast of the star-studded gala will highlight all nominees and make the grand announcement of the 2009 CNN Hero of the Year.
