In April, we welcomed another new member to the team, PR Account Coordinator Kaleb Brown. Based in Northfield, Massachusetts, Kaleb will apply his tournament-level fishing chops and lifelong hunting background to PR strategy for several of our clients in the hunt/fish space.
What clients will we find you working on at Darby Comm?
I will be working on Shimano, KUIU, National Land Realty, and Old Town Watercraft.

Do you have any nicknames?
I don’t have any nicknames and that’s ok with me!
How do you like to unwind when you’re not at work?
I like to spend my time outdoors. I spend as much time in the woods and on the water as possible. If I’m not actively doing those things, I am tinkering with gear and equipment to prepare for my next trip. I also enjoy golfing and trying new food.

You have an impressive background as a collegiate angler for Lander University and a pro tournament angler. What’s your best fish tale?
I have been very fortunate to travel to so many amazing places, fish with so many great anglers, and compete in some life-changing tournaments. The wins and high finishes are a product of the countless hours of hard work and self-doubt that many don’t ever see and that’s what makes fishing such a tough sport, not only physically but mentally. For me, the tales lie in the pursuit and journey no matter what the goal is on the water. The best fish tales are the ones that I am chasing but just haven’t put in the boat yet.

What’s a fun fact about you that most people wouldn’t know?
I am allergic to fish mucus! It can make fishing interesting sometimes, but I have it down to a science (almost).
If you could have dinner with any historical figure or celebrity, who would it be and why?
I would sit down for dinner with Jim Shockey. He has always been such a huge voice for conservation and the outdoor industry as a whole. I have read and watched his content for as long as I can remember. I would love to make that connection, have a drink, and hear his stories firsthand.
What’s the best book, movie, or show you’ve enjoyed recently?
A recent series that I binge-watched was Tour Level Gold on YouTube. The series follows different anglers on the National Walleye Trail (NWT) during their tournament season. It was a unique perspective into the world of walleye fishing and tournament walleye fishing. There isn’t the same coverage and prestige associated with Walleye fishing tournaments as there is with the modern-day Bass fishing tournament scene. It was a real change of pace and it did a great job showcasing all facets of what it means to be a touring professional angler. It was a masterpiece in my eyes.
What’s an experience that is at the top of your bucket list?
I could go on and on about all the things I want to do! But a few that sit super high on the list are traveling to Europe and targeting trophy Zander, a Moose/Caribou hunt in a place like Newfoundland or Alaska, and a Peacock Bass trip on the Amazon.
Do you have a favorite piece of gear?
One of my favorite pieces of gear/equipment that I have added to my outdoor arsenal has been the Minn Kota Ultrex Trolling Motor. I have had it for 5 years now and I couldn’t imagine going fishing without it mounted on my boat. I am also a huge fan of the Keen footwear Targhee Hiking Shoe. They have taken me countless miles with unmatched reliability and comfort.

What content creators do you enjoy following?
Some of my personal top content creators that I follow are YouTube channels such as The Hunting Public, Big Woods Bucks, The Adirondack Hunt Podcast, TacticalBassin, Whitetail Habitat Solutions (Jeff Sturgis) and Uncut Angling (Arron Wiebe). Most of these channels have multiple creators!
You have a pretty incredible social presence yourself. Where can people follow along with your outdoor adventures?
