Do you have any nicknames?
I’ve been called Gordo, Gordy, and Brownie.
As a former college football coach, what’s the best advice you were given or you gave a player?
I was taught at a young age that whether “on the field or off the field, communication is always key.”

As an avid hunter, you likely remember the big buck that never showed up when it was supposed to, just as much as the one that did. Give us your best tall tale of the one that got away.
I’ll try to paint the picture. We had put together an A-List crew to do a big deer drive in late deer season. My brother, myself, a few of our best friends, my dad, and a handful of his buddies meant we’d fill some freezers. We had 5 or 6 guys covering both sides of a ridge and 3 guys driving the deer towards us and felt we had every angle covered. My dad (one of the drivers) kicked up a 10 or 12 point buck at roughly 60 yards but never got close enough to take a shot. This buck proceeded to sneak through 8 or 9 hunters before never being seen again. Wasn’t the first and sure won’t be the last. All you can do is smile.
How do you like to unwind on the weekends?
The past few years my weekends have been packed with football games and film sessions. I plan to get out in the woods and onto the water more in the coming months.

We’re giving you permission to brag here…what is one thing in your life that you’ve done that you are super proud of today?
I’m proud to say that I have a Masters degree and have made some great friends along the way.
Guilty pleasure song?
Daughter – Pearl Jam
Tacos or Pizza?
Hard choice, but there’s nothing like a NY pizza.
What’s an experience that is at the top of your bucket list?
I’d like to go out west on a hunt with my brother and dad. My mom would want to wait at the camp with my dog and she’d cook a feast for us when we return.
Beverage of choice?
It’s got to be a light beer after a long day outside or during a round of golf.
Favorite piece of gear?
My Buck knife that I’ve had since I was 12.
What content creators do you enjoy following?
I’ve been following and watching the Meateater crew for years and consider them my favorites. I also follow way too many ESPN analysts to try to keep my finger on the pulse of the NFL and college football.
